I LOVE SUMMMMMMERRRRR!

Summer is almost over and i get a little sad to think about it so i thought i would post about our last couple of trips to the lake---my mostest favorite summer activity!! A couple of weeks ago we went up to East Canyon with a few of Brett's family members. Holy cow....after swimming in Lake Powell you tend to get a little spoiled and accustomed to the warm water! BURRRRR---East Canyon is anything but warm! It was beautiful though!Me on the wakeboardBrett on the slalom ski (that spelling looks bad)!

Last week we went out with my family to Utah Lake....it's for sure not the cleanest lake around, but it's warmer than East Canyon and only 15 minutes from my mom's house, so ya can't beat that! Plus....when it's 100 degrees outside, who cares how clear the water is, right? We had a great time! My 3 younger brothers, momma Max, Brett and i went out then my dad met up with us later. We passed the time wakeboarding and skiing until my dad arrived...then the infamous tube came into play! Let's just say "the circle of death" is something my brothers think is the greatest thing in the world (as long as they come out alive)!Momma Max backing the boat down the ramp
Me in the middle of 2 of my younger brothers, Brody and Bridger
My 3 younger brothers Bridger, Brody and Kolby going for the ride of their lives! I wish i could figure out how to put videos on this from my camera....it was pretty entertaining. I only lasted a few minutes before i launched straight up and back flipped out of the tube....when i came to, my brothers were still in the tube and my dad was trying his hardest to throw em off! Good times! i will sure miss summer!

catching up...

Well, i feel like whenever i post it's all random stuff because it comes so few and far between anymore! I look back on the calendar where i write everything and it's no wonder i haven't been posting! Things have been very busy, but it's not summer unless it's that way i guess! For a quick update on work....I am permanently working in an office part-time and temping on the off days. I've been there for about a month now. It's nice to have something familiar when i go back to work there! The doctors are amazing, some of the most genuinely nice people i have ever met! I feel really lucky to be working there! Temping has really made me a little picky about the types of offices i want to end up in. That might be a bad thing, but i think it will be worth it to be picky and know i will be excited to go to work and trust the doctors i work for.

It's nice to have patients that want to reschedule with me for their recall...it's nice to not have to pay for patients if they flake out...it's wonderful to have a paycheck that finally makes school seem "worth it"....it's nice to have doctors who trust my judgement and praise my education....it's nice to be able to go straight from checking hhx to tx without waiting for a professor to check everything. I'm glad for everything i learned at Weber and wish sometimes i could remember every little thing we were taught, but the REAL world seems pretty good so far!

Brett has been swamped in his books for the past few months. We tried not to let it overcome his whole summer, but it took up a large part of it. He finally took the DAT (dental admissions test) last week. He did really well on the test! I think i was more nervous for him to take the test than he was! Seriously, i had a stomach ache very similar to the one i experienced the morning of our DH Anesthesia board exam! It makes me a little nauseous to even think about it as i type!! He did great thought and we're both glad to have it over with! He applied to 6 different dental schools. Hopefully something will pan out for us. It's weird to think we could be packing up and moving out at this time next year. I was a little bummed to hear that California is now accepting WREB...after Brett had already sent off all his apps. I would love to live in Southern Cal---not too sure on how i feel about gingival curettage though...and i think that is one thing that those RDHs in Cali firmly believe in. ANYWHO....
Here's just a couple random pictures from the last few weeks. This is one of the softball teams i play with. This was the day of a charity tournament put on by Associated Foods...! The proceeds went to a group that pays for children to have emergency medical surgeries whose families can't pay the hospital bills, so playing in the heat is for a good cause! :)It was the hottest day of the year so far! I think it was around 108 degrees (if you couldn't tell by the nice shade of red we're all sporting!) Yeah, a little crazy! We played 5 or 6 games, but it paid off because we took 1st! THis is kinda cheezy of Brett and me! It's at a family reunion with Brett's mom's side of the family. We went camping up American Fork Canyon at the Granite Flats.Well, everything WAS great till we woke up in the middle of the night on the ground....our air mattress seemed to have sprung a leak! I know, we're wussy campers!

Brett and I had our 1st wedding anniversary on July 30th. Brett was still studying for the DAT and we had a ton of things going that weekend, so we celebrated last weekend in Park City. It was a nice get-away. We did some "school" shopping (for Brett) at the outlet malls. I had to call it school shopping to get him to be excited to wander all day and spend $$$! I didn't really have a real reason for the new clothes i bought, other than i went to school to earn the $$$ we were shopping with! We were going to end our day with the alpine slide and zipline, but it was cold, windy and starting to rain, so we'll have to go up another time and hit those attractions! This was a cool sight on our drive up to Park City...a little bit of heaven shining through!
